After having been involved in the scene under a number of “different guises” over the years, artist Tony Tyrrell of Dublin, Ireland, decided to go the solo route & change things up back in 2022 with the release of his debut album called conviction.  Over the course of the past year since it became available online, you’ll find that Tony has put out a number of singles to promote the album with full video support, including “Another Day,” “Mocking Bird,” and conviction’s brand-new single, “Shining,” which came out at the start of February this year.  Filmed mainly in black & white, which sees Tyrrell shifting between the past and the present, “Shining” looks stunning onscreen with its straight-ahead shots, overlapping scenes, and clever effects laced into the visuals.  From the powerful surge into the chorus of “Shining” and the slight splashes of color it offers, Tony comes up with the kind of memorable combination of audio & video that makes for engaging entertainment with genuine artistic merit.  Through the smoky scenes we see onscreen and the smooth bass-lines you’ll hear along the way, there’s a hazy fluidity to “Shining” that flows from sight to sound that is bound to capture the attention of listeners and viewers.  All-in-all, this latest video from Tony highlights the thought-provoking nature of his lyricism and craft as an artist & is sure to compel people tuning in to find out more about what conviction is really all about.
