Daniel Alejandro – “Fly Me Away”
Daniel Alejandro – “Fly Me Away” – Music Video Release/Review
If you popped open the page here at sleepingbagstudios yesterday, you likely checked out our first experience with Daniel Alejandro’s music through the posting of his video “Honey Dear” and probably noticed that I hinted we’d be back again soon after checking out his latest single “Fly Me Away” to post that up for you too & lay out a bit more information on this talented singer based out of Australia.
A quick read through the information on Daniel’s main website reveals the man has a penchant for theatrical music & dramatic productions…he’s been in notable plays like Sweeney Todd and RENT, which undoubtedly highlighted the stunning range, powerful tone, and vibrant emotion that he sings with. He’s clearly no stranger to the microphone and confidently lets his vocals soar throughout his latest single “Fly Me Away,” which mixes the heavy weight of introspection in contrast to the beautiful, flowing piano notes and uplifting string sounds that add strength & depth to the song’s structure. You can absolutely hear just how much Daniel’s experience in theatre guides him to some really massive & memorable moments on “Fly Me Away,” especially towards the finale, where he unleashes his biggest notes of all with precision, professionalism, technique, and a whole lot of passion & heart in the mix.
You’ll know that to be true, because an artist like Daniel Alejandro commits to every note and gives each moment of his songs everything he’s got – and that matters. In a song like “Fly Me Away,” it’s that freedom of expression that he’s found a way to build into an asset in his style that resonates & connects so strongly with listeners…you can tell by the way he sings, how focused, controlled, and into it all he is, that Daniel is clearly doing what he loves most and embracing the inspirational spirit of music in-full.
In the gorgeously shot & edited video he’s got to support “Fly Me Away,” Daniel is alone on the beach in what appears to be just about the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen. How he ended up with it all to himself, I’ll never know – but what a lucky guy; with no one else around, I’d just as soon set up camp and permanently call that place home! That isolation within such a stunning location serves the sentiment in the song extremely well, shining a spotlight on that internal reflection within the lyricism that is meant to represent one’s private & innermost thoughts. The scenery is seriously something to behold on its own, whether he’s on the beach, on the cliffs, or in the forest – but you also get a solid look at Daniel’s ability to emote & express visually as well, adding to his theatrical repertoire in a performance that shows us his strengths & sincerity as an all-around entertainer.
Both singles featured here at the page for “Honey Dear” and “Fly Me Away” can be found on Daniel Alejandro’s debut album El Amor, which is stocked full of romantic ballads, theatrically inspired ideas, thought-provoking emotions, his genuinely heartfelt vocals, and even some Spanish classics!
