Runaway Meed – “Peace In Mind”

Runaway Meed – “Peace In Mind” – Music Video Post
This dude gets it.
Believe me when I tell ya, this world would be a much better place if we had people like Runaway Meed in charge of things. Better yet, don’t believe me – check out the video for the new single “Peace In Mind” and decide for yourself. I’m absolutely confident that once you hear the message being beamed out of this song, that you’ll know you wanna stand behind every word that’s being sung about here.
There you have it, right? It’s tough, but it’s true. “Taking sides, the divide is deep” was a line that hit me real hard…I’ve been trying to explain to the people I know and care about that we’re long past the point of trying to decide between what’s right and wrong – we should know exactly what that is, and be willing to stand up for it. Whether or not we like it, we’re being split into two distinct camps – one that understands empathy, humanity, and the power of unity – and the other that revels in division & chaos. I know which side I’m comfortable being on, and from what I can tell in this song/video, Runaway Meed does too. Might be a little oddly fixated on Bon Jovi, but that’s okay…I’ll let that slide – I’m well aware of the fact that BJ has a well-documented humanitarian attitude, and ultimately, I agree with much of what he has to say. Like Runaway Meed points out in “Peace In Mind,” Jovi has actually put his money where his mouth is, and leads by example…so don’t get it twisted, I appreciate where he’s coming from, 100%.
What you’ll love about “Peace In Mind” is that Runaway Meed clearly has an altruistic purpose in this. It’s pretty easy to understand that if Runaway Meed didn’t really care about the fate of our society, that we’d just be listening to another song about chicks and cars – but it’s obviously apparent to anyone tuning in that “Peace In Mind” is about so much more than a surface level single usually is. Digging right into themes we can all understand, from taking on “the billionaire’s club” to the concern for humanity that’s expressed in the lyricism throughout the song, you know what side of the fence that Runaway Meed stands on, and ultimately, I like to think that’s going to be proven as the right side of our history.
Through a video that’s laced with imagery that depicts greed, money, corporatism, AI, and politicians that are infatuated with themselves, Runaway Meed uses contrast to make an argument that we need to be better than we’ve been. Adding in crucial imagery from community workers, to donation stations, to…yes…Bon Jovi himself and the work that he’s done to help address the growing needs we share on a social level…Runaway Meed is raising awareness to how we’re losing the grip on who we are, and sounding the alarm that if we’re not too careful, we might just go too far to get back on track. The video for “Peace In Mind” is a stellar match with the imagery to the words and sentiment that drives a song like this, which is essentially an anthem of change/call to action at a time that we truly need it most. It’s awesome to see and hear people speak up when it’s crucial, and that’s exactly what Runaway Meed is doing with “Peace In Mind.” If it’s true that we all need to ‘be the change we want to see in the world,’ then this is where you see Runaway Meed answering the call, and leading the way for the rest to follow.
