0022 – Man Made Lake

Here’s a look at some of our favourite memories from our history…the SBS Photo Journal!  Gathered from our show SBS Live This Week, live events around local Vancouver, BC & beyond, and from all our random experiences here at the place we love more than anything, sleepingbagstudios.  On my first trip to Vancouver Island to discover music talent, I ended up meeting ten bands in a rapid-interview day that ended with me being awake for about 44 hours straight.  Not to be outdone, my next adventure would see me awake for 52 hours and absolutely unable to form sentences by the end.  Anyway…it’s always a great time…I suppose that’s the point.  We met a lot of fabulous people & took in a ton of talented performances in only a short time, forming the SBS Island Adventure episodes on SBS Live This Week. These guys rule – take a look at some shots from our time meeting Man Made Lake.  We’d go on to see these guys on SBS Live This Week through the island adventures…and eventually we even pinned them down for a video interview at one point.  With usually somewhere in the neighbourhood of 5-7 members in the fold at any given time, it IS tough to pin them down.  Still…by far and away one of my favorite sounds out there in the independent scene…rumour has it this band will be taking the stage in November on the 14th at the Railway Club with another band that rules…Dispell, which has Laura Kelsey, our first guest on SBS LTW.  The two musical entities first met & collaborated here at sleepingbagstudios for the first time in 2014 – stoked to see them on the same bill this year!
