This particular artist has had such a transformative year that he even changed his name, legally.  We’ve been keeping an ear on Nate’s music ever since he was known as a Jacobucci, but perhaps been even more impressed with how it sounds since he made the official switch to Sheridan after taking his wife’s last name in marriage.  Armed with a remarkable knowledge of music’s history, a commendably wide range of influences, and a genuine gift for creating insightfully artistic tunes, Tales From A Dying Mind was an exploratory emotional experience that easily ranks as the most complete and balanced material that we’ve heard from Nate to-date.  The attention to detail on his latest record was staggering from start to finish, and whether it was the stunningly sincere melodies he created on the surface, or all the amazing things he’d add into the background from the colorful instrumentation to the personality in the backing vocals & harmonies in his songs, Tales From A Dying Mind totally hit the spot in a true variety of wonderful ways.  From the stark naked honesty of his lyricism and drawing inspiration from real life, to the way he could just as easily paint you a picture in your mind with his words in a more fictional theme, Sheridan’s lighthearted melancholy on Tales From A Dying Mind could have you dancing in moment and reaching for the Kleenex in the next.  A multi-instrumentalist that is always looking to learn more about his craft & refine his talents even more day after day, Sheridan is synonymous with artistic integrity and it absolutely shows within the music he makes.  Always willing to see where the music will take him next – Nate is well adept at jumping straight down the rabbit hole, knowing full well that he can navigate his way back to the surface with pure audible gold that is as meaningful as it is moving to all who listen.  On a top ten list that is always internationally based, it’s always great to have some representation from our own country earn its way into our end of the year accolades, wouldn’t you say fellow Canucks?  Join us in congratulating this incredible Canadian artist and great guy all-around for reaching the second spot in 2025’s quest for our Best New Sound for his undeniably spectacular efforts on Tales From A Dying Mind.
