Max Chaos – “Ride The Wave”

Max Chaos – “Ride The Wave” – Single Review
I love you all. You’re listeners with discerning taste (generally speaking).
You know I think the world of you…but with all due respect…y’ain’t ready for this.
BRACE YOURSELVES MOTHERFUCKERS, because Max Chaos is about to sonically kick you straight in the coconuts! For real…I feel like I just had my whole spine adjusted after listening to this new single “Ride The Wave.” The potential that exists here, is absolutely MAMMOTH. If you’re a fan of Metal, Nu-Metal, and really fucking LOUD-ASS sound from Alternative to Thrash and/or Punk…I think you’re about to find out that Max Chaos is going to be the easiest nod of approval that you’re going to provide this year.
Look at it this way…I’m a fan of SOME of those genres. The reason I can say that, is simply due to the fact that I like the best of the best in whatever style of music is coming my way…if you can play your shit in a convincing way, I’m always going to be into it. We don’t approve of half-assery on these pages of ours…that’s where you tend to meet with my resistance. If you’re full-assing your music as you should be, you’re not going to hear me complaining. Max Chaos is in full control, confident AF, and completely KILLIN’ IT…and I can promise you that it won’t even take you ten seconds into this single before you know that I’m right. For a debut single, it’s rare to hear something that’s as forceful, potent, and entirely unrestrained like what you’ll hear on “Ride The Wave.” There is no trace of the usual caution or trepidation that you usually find in a project early on into its existence. This is like Max Chaos stepped into the studio fully ready to roll with the confidence and chops you tend to find in a band that’s already about five or ten years into their career, pushed record, and the entire place EXPLODED. Then, like the true badass he is, Max walked away from the burning wreck in slow motion with his new single in hand.
I mean…I don’t have any evidence that supports this theory, but from the sound of “Ride The Wave,” I’d say we have to assume this is all possible. I’m not remotely kidding when I say Max Chaos could go on to be HUGE. I don’t know if I personally consider him to be Nu-Metal…he’s right on the edge of that genre in my personal opinion…but I’ll certainly vouch for the fact that that genre desperately needs a new champion, and this dude could completely be it. The very first line in the opening verse of “Ride The Wave” hints at how close he is to the Nu-Metal genre, because you’ve heard that before from one of the legendary giants that paved the way for Max to exist today…so we’ve gotta assume that Chaos saying “it’s just one of those days” is a nod to the icons that came before him. Before you even get to that moment though, you’ve already SURVIVED the main hook coming straight for your throat, and congratulations if you did – not everyone will. Hearing Max shout “I’ll ride the wave” is wildly addictive – probably way more than you’d think by reading it…but that’s how you can tell you’re dealing with a savage dose of the X-factor y’all – this is the kind of guy that can easily make the ordinary extraordinary.
No joke folks…I LOVE hearing this level of commitment in anything I’m listening to, and I know full well how rare it is to find…that’s why I’m immediately backing Max Chaos. The precision here, is surgical – the structural dynamics are built to deliver from the music to the microphone, and Max has used every ticking second to make a maximum impact on ya. The guitars are great, the drums (Justin Kills) are solid, the entire low-end of the song rumbles perfectly, and the vocals are gloriously unhinged. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED? You add in the heavy dose of explicit lyricism and attitude that refuses to be ignored, and you KNOW you’re listening to the kind of artist that ain’t gonna settle for being second best. He’ll “Ride The Wave” alright…all the way to the fucking top of the scene and playlists in a global takeover.
You will find comparisons that can be made to giant names like Three Days Grace, Slipknot, Korn – and Limp Bizkit, who I was alluding to earlier if you weren’t picking that up…but in my personal opinion, the enormous potential of Max Chaos could somehow take this dude ever further…honestly, there’s no telling just how far he could go. Not only is he coming equipped and fully loaded with professional sound – I think it’s the right time for what Chaos is creating, and if we’re considering the cyclical nature of music, this dude could seriously blow the fuck UP and instantly become a MAJOR player on the international scene. LISTEN to this guy around the 1:20 mark of “Ride The Wave” and how he sounds like he’s just short of meeting the REAPER with how much he’s put into his performance at that point – it’s absolutely thrilling, and convincing on levels you’ve likely heard very little in your LIFE. So yeah, while there are always comparisons that can be made to just about anyone…Max will prove through this debut single alone, that there’s something savagely special about this guy that the rest just don’t have.
You wanna hear what it sounds like to discover a first impression that you’ll never forget? THIS IS IT. Ride the motherfuckin’ wave y’all. I’m tellin’ ya…I’m amped up, I’m excited, I’m going to be screaming about Max Chaos to everyone within earshot until my voice is sore. I don’t know much about the guy yet with this being a debut and all…but from what I’ve been able to piece together online, Max is rumored to be based in both Paris, and Toronto (fuck yeah – we’re claiming him as Canadian talent!) – and he’s been working with some amazing names in the industry already. Iconic names like Maor Applebaum (Faith No More, Limp Bizkit, Dream Theater), who did the mastering on this single, and Producer/Manager Dan McConomy, who happened to manage one of my old Canadian favorites, The Doughboys. Believe me when I tell ya, that’s actually one of the lesser-known names on the resume this guy has – he’s had clients that go from Black Sabbath to freakin’ Dr. Dre. You get the point – Max has got some of the most crucial pieces in place and is building a team of legendary support that has a proven track record for generating MASSIVE success. Combined with the outstanding level of talent that Chaos has, and a full album called Order Of Mayhem rumored to be coming out this year…I’m tellin’ ya…it’s only a matter of time before the world catches onto what this dude can do, and he blows the doors off any expectations you have. This ain’t hype…this ain’t hyperbole…Max Chaos is a force of nature, and his rise is INEVITABLE.
You’ve been warned. And encouraged to listen. And you’re welcome.
