Interesting turn that politics has taken right here.

I’ll put it to you this way…if Gary Barve couldn’t hold his own vocally, you probably wouldn’t want to put this out as a politician in the public sphere, you know what I mean?  On the other hand, considering the fact that this worked out well for the man, you’d have to assume that this is a solid new way of getting the word out when it comes to your political career.  What I really liked and appreciated about this take on Justin Bieber’s hit single “Lonely” before I even pushed play, was the story that came along with it.  Gary talks about how his politics are likely different than Bieber’s, which is safe to assume, but he also goes on to explain how the music & the drive that Justin possesses for greatness, are common elements that can help bring us together and be the kind of creative inspiration that can help us bridge the divide.

So while the straight-down-the-barrel staring into the camera is definitely…a choice…I think you’ve gotta give Gary Barve For USA President some genuine credit for finding the courage to put himself out there in a different way than most politicians would ever dare to.  Plus, like I was tellin’ ya earlier, the guy can sing – he puts in a powerfully emotional performance into this cover that’s genuinely raw in the right way…it’s vulnerable, and it’s real.  For better or worse, we don’t often get that from the politicians out there, and I respect what he’s accomplished here.  As I’ve often said on these pages of ours, music is the only real truth any of us have ever known…and Gary’s 100% correct about how it can bring us together.
