We might just have to put this song in the class of tunes that can’t be screwed up!  It’s always great to have an excellent voice to collaborate with as an Electronic artist of course, but from my perspective, it’s also nice to get confirmation that the song at the core of it all is bulletproof…and sometimes multiple variations & versions are the only way to really know if it is for sure.  While I’m concentrating mainly on Deltiimo’s latest collaboration with singer Jaki Nelson today here in review, if you’re a regular reader of these pages of ours or you follow this particular Electro wizard online, you might remember the title of this song being featured here before.  Comparisons are a very natural part of how we listen to music – but sometimes, when you look beyond that, you can see the DNA of a song for what it is.  Essentially, I loved what I heard in “Always Running Back To You” previously, and I still love it here now with Jaki confidently taking the starring role for this new version.  That’s what I’m getting at I suppose – it’s a luxury to have a great singer like Nelson at the helm for sure, but make no mistake, “Always Running Back To You” is such a fundamentally sound song that it’d be tougher to make a version you didn’t like.

So the question is, if this is the unbreakable tune I’ve been telling you it is, then what can I tell you that I haven’t told ya before?  I can give you the technical stuff, like how Deltiimo co-wrote/produced this with his longtime collaborator Bradon Grobler…that might be some new information for ya.  I can tell you that it’s getting spun proudly throughout Europe now, in addition to iconic stations like UK BBC Radio.  As far as Jaki is concerned, her resume of accomplishments would keep you here reading all week, but suffice it to say that she’s a certified platinum artist that pulls in nearly two million streams on her music every single month…so basically, if you’re just hearing about Nelson now from me, you’re late to the party.  That being said, you all know how these artists and bands that make the music you love work – they don’t really care if you’re late to the party so much as they’re happy you eventually showed up.  If you’re like me, and you’re just learning about this musical juggernaut known as Jaki Nelson now, feel no shame, it’s impossible to know every single name under the sun – but do the right thing and rectify the situation by giving this single a spin or two for yourself & have a listen to “Always Running Back To You.”

Does Jaki Nelson fit the vibe?  Of course she does.  She’s clearly a professional with a ton of success under her belt long before she got here – it’d have been way weirder to find this collaboration not working out every bit as much as you would have assumed it would have.  It’s definitely another case of professionalism all around really, because you already know that Deltiimo keeps his end of the bargain every time he’s creating something new.  “Always Running Back To You” in this form has a bit more of a traditional EDM rhythm and pulse to it, but it’s clearly designed to bring the best out of both worlds.  Whether it’s Jaki’s soaring vocals or Deltiimo’s energetic rumble in the production, “Always Running Back To You” shimmers and shines with bright, engaging sound from the start to finish, and really does an excellent job of highlighting both of its main elements so that the balance you wanna hear between great music & great vocals becomes a seamless pairing of talents.  While it’s absolutely true that I’ve yet to hear a version of this song that I don’t like, there’s also something really nice about being able to know you can rely on a tune to supply your speakers with a continual dose of consistent greatness.

Definitely no objections from me here.  Jaki sounds fantastic, and I dig all the changes that have been made to this song in the music as well…this is a completely grade A single from Deltiimo no matter how you slice it, and I’m glad that it continues to gain traction out there in the scene on a global scale.  All the attention to detail is right where you wanna find it in the production, and the performances that come along with it are nothing less than something to be proud of.  It’s a genuinely special song when it comes right down to it, and hearing Nelson & Deltiimo bring their best to it gives it a whole new dimension and level of appeal that will help broaden the audience & take this single-worthy song even further up the charts.  How could they possibly fail with a chorus and hook as insanely good as this one is?  I could listen to this single all day long…and you never know, I just might!  Maybe I’ll take the rest of this night off here and see if I can wear some grooves into this digital release the same way I would on a vinyl.  There would be many ways to use my time less wisely than that, I assure you.  As far as I’m concerned, that might be one of the best uses of my time if you ask me, but I digress and you get the point – “Always Running Back To You” is the kind of song that is always welcome on my playlists over here, and I’m willing to bet that after you have a listen to it for yourself, you’ll feel the exact same way that I do.
