There’s art in here.  If any of y’all know someone out there that still believes Rap & Hip-Hop don’t qualify on that level, then PLEASE get them to check out “Well Adjusted” by BarelyImproved.  This is genuinely substantial content…the kind of material that makes you think…Conscious Hip-Hop, you dig?  Listening to this dude spit his rhymes with perfect precision and poise, while still saying exactly what he wants to say exactly how he wants to say it…it’s seriously refreshing.  I’m sure that many out there listening will feel like BarelyImproved is lost in his thoughts based on a single spin, but those out there really paying close attention will discover a resilient spirit that’s truly awakening.  You don’t get to insightful lines like “maybe God ain’t gone, he just don’t answer to me” without putting in some real thought into what life is all about and the contrast that comes along with it.  The ups and the downs, the good times and the bad, the yin and the yang & such…it’s a balance that reflects a beauty that was here long before any of us were, and will continue on long after we’re gone.  I love the fact that this video is shot partly in black & white, because that’s symbolic of the truth in our life as we see it, ain’t it?  The colors we experience represent hope and possibility.  So too should it be then for BarelyImproved, who plans to travel the globe and document that experience for you this year.  Will there be more music?  Will there be more videos?  Oh yes!  Yes there will be.  Why?  Because you don’t have talent like this and just go about squandering it…you put it to WORK son!  You take it from one side of the globe to the other if you have to.  It’s crystal clear to me that BarelyImproved puts a ton of thought into every move he makes, and based on this experience, I think it’s more than fair to say he’s been down, but he’s far from out.  In fact, I think “Well Adjusted” proves he’s ready to rise up and discover what happens when ideas, preparation, art and opportunity combine to form something that’s bigger than all of us.  Put this dude on your radar, your screens and your playlists – BarelyImproved has got something remarkably special goin’ on & every step he takes, will be a massive leap forward.
