With our annual cutoff for the Best New Sound competition being Dec. 5th of each year – there’s no question that Galliano Sommavilla’s album Breathe just made it in before the deadline this year with the official review posted up on our site on the first of the month – but what’s equally true is that the man released several albums that could have easily been considered in 2020’s quest for the best. For real – somewhere on the other side of the world over there in Australia, Galliano’s always been secretly wondering – do these promotional people REALLY like the music, or are they just being friendly marketing-sharks? We don’t just talk about it here at sleepingbagstudios – we ARE about it – and if we’ve put it in print or one of our shows, believe me when I say we stand behind every word. Galliano’s had an inspired and all-out incredible year of production and amazing music; Breathe might be the latest addition to the top ten we’ve ever had, but we’ve also had a saying around here for years that certainly applies – and that’s when you know, you know. Breathe was the cherry on top of a real breakout year in Sommavilla’s career – his name has been all over the internet in 2020, not just on our site, and for plenty of good reasons; he’s a man of music & belongs on this top ten list for the amazing lineup of songs on his latest record, and the commitment, dedication, passion, and artistry he brings to the scene all-around.
