0162 – Spaceport Union Live @ Studio 2015

After meeting two-members of progressive-rock band Spaceport Union in early 2013, it took quite some time before we finally had the chance to actually watch them live onstage, though the friendship continued strongly throughout the years.  Truthfully, it wasn’t SPU’s fault in any way, shape or form; they’d already invited me to a show in 2014 and I had to bail with a massive chest-cold weighing me down…later on that year I believe, we ended up even having Spaceport Union drop by the studio while in transit on tour across Canada, but even that time we didn’t end up seeing them play live officially.  They noodled a bit in the studio, but the idea was really just to provide some rest & relief as they made their way from one side of the country to the other.  Eventually, in 2015 we finally had a chance to resolve the issue and see them play live for the very first time at Studio in Vancouver, in addition to having them come by to also rock the garage officially and rock an unreal performance for SBS Live This Week over back-to-back days.  Highly skilled band, incredible music and the most genuine people you could ever hope to hang out with or talk to – Spaceport Union are among the best guests we’ve had on the show and people we’ve met along the way, no doubt.  Check out some shots from SPU onstage at Studio in 2015!
